STUDIO POLICIES
The student and parent recognize that Zemskov Dance Academy is a school and regular class attendance is important for student’s progress and understands that it is the student’s responsibility to attend the classes. We strive to teach students about commitment; therefore, we are requesting that each student make a 10-month commitment (August 2022-May 2023). If a student stops attending for more than 30-days, they may be dropped from the class unless payment for the class was already made for the month. There is no guarantee that their place in the class will be available upon return.
It is further understood that the parent is obligated to make payments whether or not the student attends classes. Tuition is monthly, not weekly. Make-up classes are available upon request. On occasion, the studio closes during holidays. It is up to the parent/student to arrange an appropriate make-up class for those closures. Tuition will not be reduced due to holiday closures.
Mid-season level changes will not occur unless the teacher initiates. Each child is carefully examined and monitored throughout the year, and levels are selected that will most appropriately assist your child. Each child must go through the dance curriculum in sequence to ensure skills are acquired before the next skill is taught. Skipping to higher levels when the child is not physically and/or mentally ready will cause frustration and may result in the child losing interest in dance. If your child would like to take more classes than are offered in the current level, they are welcome to take classes in technique classes, lower-level classes, or request private lessons. We ask that all our parents please respect the decisions of the studio. Please do not request level changes through the teacher. If you have questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please see Ms. Christen at the front desk to schedule a meeting with Mr. Dmitry.
Zemskov Dance Academy maintains a professional atmosphere. Parents and students will follow proper dance etiquette, including the following:
Make a commitment to work hard, be bold, try something new, and HAVE FUN! By signing below, you are agreeing to follow the guidelines above.

Zemskov Dance Academy maintains a professional atmosphere. Parents and students will follow proper dance etiquette, including the following:
- Students will dress in the proper dance attire designated for the class. Hair will be in a bun or pulled back off the face.
- Students will come to class on-time. On-time is considered 5-10min. prior to the start of class. This ensures that the student has time to use the restroom, change into dance shoes/attire, stretch, and mentally prepare for the class.
- If the student is late for class, the student will quickly and quietly prepare for class. They will stand outside the class door and wait for the music to stop. They will wait for the teacher to invite them into the class.
- Parents/guardians will wait for their child in the designated waiting area. Parents will not engage in loud disruptive noises and will ensure that children not attending class are quiet and calm in the waiting area. This will minimize distraction to the class and provide a relaxing atmosphere in the studio.
- Parents will refrain from tapping on the door/window, talking to your child during class instruction, or doing any distracting action that will pull attention off the dance instructor. If the dance instructor needs your assistance, he/she will come to you.
- Classes are subject to cancellation if attendance drops below 4 students enrolled.
